Museums increasingly seek ways to enhance interpretation for visitors. New media options allow historic spaces to come alive and be interactive so that visitors are pulled into the history of the property. Appropriate use of these new resources is dependent on: 1) evaluating building history and interiors, including use and occupants 2) analyzing remaining historic elements and artifact collections associated with the property 3) researching the demographics and needs of visitors 4) coordination with site staff to evaluate the interpretation they want to convey to different visitor groups 5) recommending interpretive themes for the site and ways to present those via exhibits, programs, furnished interiors, and technology
